Hectic half-term

Why is it that when you have all these plans/ideas for half-term (tidying the house/clearing the garden/maybe finish painting the kitchen after two years/letting the children become autonomous for a week  ) that half-term seems to flash by and is actually busier than normal weeks ? Luckily it’s because I have so many great friends whose kids go to school that fitting them all in to visit in one week is starting to become impossible!!Can’t complain though as I’ve had a lovely week, even though the house looks like we’ve been burgled  .
Highlights for me
-Visiting Lin on Monday for a good chat and having a lovely meal.Even though Pea 1 was a stroppy git at times.
-Having my good friend L and her son D visit to catch up on Tuesday with a lovely meal in the evening too- I think my scales will complain this week
-Pea 1 accusing Pea 2 of cheating at cards by mind-reading ROFL
-Having lots of laughs with the Peas, who all seem to be in a good mood lately.Well, apart from Pea 1’s stroppyness and tantrums.
-Visiting the dentist (no,really).Peas teeth all good
-Visiting my nan and having a lovely chat.
-Having Lin and boys over to tea on Thursday and having a meal (not as nice as Lin’s though ) which was polished off surprisingly fast and enjoyed by all
-The card game the Boots bought Pea 1 and 2 for their birthday, which has been the source of many moments of quiet (and the occasional feud ;-) ).
-My friend S visiting with her boys on Friday. Catching up and watching all the kids slot back easily into friendships when they haven’t seen each other for months.
-Going shopping with Lin on Saturday and spending over 2 hours in Tesco!!! It’s been ages since I shopped with another grown-up and it was fab ( especially watching other shoppers trying to work out if we were ‘together’ LOL ).
-Going out on Saturday night to another friends birthday party (crikey! I do sound popular-I never realised how many friends I really had until I tried to stay regularly in touch with all of them LOL ) and getting lost even though I’ve been there LOADS of times before (Doh!!).
-Having a great time when I (finally )got there  .
-Coming home and getting drunk with the babysitter ( my friend L ) and singing songs from ‘Calamity Jane’ from memory and texting DEP at ridiculous times in the morning to make him laugh (I knew he’d be up ) .
-Having my dishes done and roast lunch cooked by L (she enjoys cooking and has a real thing about washing up before lunch-the best type of friend  ).
-Watching Calamity Jane on Sunday with a huge roast on my lap and singing along with L and SweetP. Peas 1 and 2 and D (L’s son ) not amused LOL.
-My nanny knitting me a gorgeous black fluffy scarf as a pressie.
Low points
-Pea 1’s tantrums ( too regular but dealt with very well, I think, this week ).She’s calming down much quicker now.
-My sister coming to visit in the middle of Calamity Jane and being miserable because she didn’t like it.Liked her visit but she needs to cheer up!!
-Eating TOOOOOO much. I don’t want to be this fat  but food is yummy  . NEED to exercise more as eating less is probably not going to happen LOL.
